Where do I find firmware and software updates for Honeywell paperless recorders?

A customer contacted me earlier today after reading another blog post about running Honeywell TrendManager software on a Windows 7 computer. She was looking for a copy of the latest software compatible with her recorders and operating system. But because Honeywell is a large company with several different divisions and websites, it can sometimes be difficult for customers to find the downloads they need.

How to get a USB barcode scanner to read into a Honeywell paperless recorder

This is the error message I got when I tried using a USB barcode scanner with my Honeywell Trendview X-Series paperless recorderEarlier this week, I was working with one of our Honeywell Trendview X-series paperless recorders. The X-Series is capable of accepting data input from a USB barcode scanner — typically used for batch identification or for user name logins — but mine wasn’t working right.

When I tried to scan a barcode, I got an error message, and it stumped me. Luckily, I figured it out in a few minutes.

How do I ignore negative values on a Honeywell paperless recorder?

When you’re dealing with process recorder functions, some actions don’t like negative values, like a totalizer that sees a negative offset at zero flow as backflow, which impacts the total. But on the Honeywell X-Series paperless recorders, you can work around the issue, so they report only the positive values.
