Recently, a customer and I were talking about his Honeywell X-series paperless recorder, and how the information was appearing in TrendManager PC software.
The graphs were showing data with the original pen scales, 0° to 500° F. But the recorder rarely, if ever, read below 100° or above 400°, so there was a lot of “white space” on the trend chart.
Could we do anything about it?
One of the strengths of Honeywell’s X-series paperless recorders is password security. You can configure it to keep operators from making configuration changes, and it’s a necessary part of being able to view a recorder’s data using a web browser.
One of the weaknesses of Honeywell’s X-series paperless recorders is password security. And by that, I don’t mean it’s bad. I just mean it can cause problems if a user fails to enter their username and password right, and ends up locked out of the recorder.
So I’m guessing if you searched for the backdoor password, you’re in that situation. You’re locked out of your recorder and can’t figure out how to get back in.
First, I apologize for luring you into reading this. There is NO backdoor password for an X-series recorder. But don’t give up hope: There is an answer.

Hopefully, there’s a user at your location with administrator level access, who can reset a locked-out user. But if that’s not the case, what do you do when everyone is locked out of an X-series recorder?
TrendManager Suite is Windows software for Honeywell’s Trendview paperless recorders, which includes the licensed TrendManager Pro (TMP) and Trendserver Pro (TSP) software and the freeware Trendviewer.
The latest release, version 184.108.40.206, has revisions to the installer that makes the version Windows 7 compliant. Earlier versions had issues trying to run under Windows 7. For download and installation details, read further.

Earlier this week, I was working with one of our Honeywell Trendview X-series paperless recorders. The X-Series is capable of accepting data input from a USB barcode scanner — typically used for batch identification or for user name logins — but mine wasn’t working right.
When I tried to scan a barcode, I got an error message, and it stumped me. Luckily, I figured it out in a few minutes.
